Music.

La La Land.

Recently, I was told that I live in La La Land.

The person who said it to me meant it to be an insult, meant to try to hurt me...and somehow thought that they were telling me something I didn't already know.

Kissy, you live in La La Land.

Um...no shit, Sherlock!

I've been living in La La Land pretty much since I drew my first breath.  Just ask my mother, she'll tell you.  My mother had two children; I am the second.  If you ask her about us she will say:
The first one was studious and calm and neat.  Not a risk-taker.  Predictable, easy.
The second one? Well, she was always different...drove me nuts...she has always lived in her own world, like a secret place that was all hers...might possibly be an alien...either that or she takes after her father's side because she's not like anyone on my side of the family.

La La Land rocks.
I make up my own rules there.  I decide what is right and what is wrong for me.
I have not ever and will continue to not ever get caught up in "suggested societal standards" and
neither do I care about what other people think of me, my life, my choices, my clothes, my car, my opinions, my hobbies, etc.
If I start caring about that sort of thing...well, I would be giving up ME in favor of what "they" think I should be or should do, etc.
To me, if I cared too much about what other people think and conducted my life based on them...their opinions...their choices/preferences/judgments, then what I would really feel like is a poseur:  a person who pretends to be what he or she is not : an affected or insincere person.
No thanks.

This place where I figuratively live is filled with whimsy and laughter and silliness and fun.  It's colorful.  And ridiculous.  See, I had some shitty things happen to me along the way that deeply affected me.  And at some point I had to decide whether I was going to stay stuck in all that shittiness and sit idly by as my heart and soul turned black or if I was going to squeeze the shit out of the damn lemons life kept handing me to try to get some freakin' lemonade out of them.
Hmmmm...live in Shit Land or La La Land?
I chose the latter option ('cause it's prettier there, for one) and my heart and soul are now infused with all this sparkly, glittery, magnetic, happy stuff that attracts all kinds of other sparkly, glittery, magnetic, happy stuff.

And that pisses some people off.

Especially if they've let their hearts and souls get black.

Just remember:  you cannot ever be miserable enough to make a miserable person happy (and why would you even try, anyway?).

And I wouldn't pay too much mind to the kind of person who sits around telling other people what they think is wrong with their life.  Nine times out of ten, they're jealous (although they will deny deny deny that!) and if they're not jealous, they're just plain ol' crazy.

What you can do with this type of person, however, is send them lots of happy, healing stuff because bad cannot stand in the face of good (just as sane cannot stand in the face of crazy...although it's not a good idea to stick your sane face in the face of a crazy person...this tends to incite them!).

And throwing a dash of this their way can't hurt, either...

Just be sure to run real fast after you toss this their way.

Back.

A few weeks back I attempted to return to my original, non-anonymous blog in the hopes that it wouldn't still get the unwanted attention it had previously been receiving.

Unfortunately I learned that it was still getting that attention so I've come back to here, to Kissy.

I'm very much up in the air because of a bunch of related stuff that's been going on and I'm thinking I need to take an internet break and regroup a bit.

Sometimes life hands you stuff that you don't want or need or feel that you deserve but I've learned that you can get through anything if you do your best to see it as an opportunity instead of a bad thing.

Onward and upward.

Update & Contest Winner.

M.I.A.
Two weeks have passed since I posted last and that's because I've been working rebuilding my original blog - the one I abandoned because it was receiving unwanted excessive attention and comments.

While I love my Kissy Lovestuff persona, I got really mad at myself for running and hiding 'cause that's not how I normally conduct myself...no way no how.

In the meantime I'm going to keep this Kissy blog up and running just in case I change my mind again and decide absolutely that being incognito is the way to go.

Contest.

#7, Iowa Harley Girl,  is the winner of the handmade t-shirt.

Hope she likes it!
